Mindful Breathing

Why this site?

This site is inspired by mindfulness practices taught in the popular Headspace app. My own personal experiences with mindful breathing have been very positive, but a growing body of evidence is beginning to validate several benefits:

  • Lower resting heart rate
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Positively impact mood and outlook
  • Quell stressful thoughts and reduce anger
I thought it would add a nice calming quality to recreate the animation used in the Apple Watch's Breathe app to help pace your breathing. To perform the exercise, simply inhale slowly while the circles grow and exhale slowly while the circles shrink.
